Meet the Chef of Star Bar
Jeremy Ritchie grew up in a military family. As most military families do, they traveled around and then settled in Oak Harbor, Washington. While attending school for electronics in Seattle he started working in restaurants. After several years of working in various kitchens around Seattle he realized he was already doing a job he loved. He enjoyed how food enriched his life and those around him.
His strong work ethic and pride, along with inspiration from his mother drove him to follow his passion and pursue a career in the kitchen full time. After several years Jeremy decided to return to the Skagit Valley. Upon his return he was inspired by the variety of local produce and product and after working for 19 years in the kitchen he still can't get enough.
"I love the beauty of the Northwest and all it has to offer. To be a chef here, with the rich agricultural areas, abundant fresh produce, fantastic seafood, all right in our backyard, one couldn't ask for more."
